The light works much like a laser, but instead of having just one wavelength of light, IPL produces a spectrum of light and the skin benefits more from it. IPL Plus RF (radio frequency), a.k.a Elight, which combines the IPL hair removing, IPL skin rejuvenation and Radio frequency functions.
The RF is made to remove the wrinkle on the forehead, around the eyes, or on the cheeks. Radio frequency (RF) energy is conducted through bi-polar electrodes, and safely distributes heat to the dermal layers. The peak current density for RF is about 1.5 to 2 mm in depth. This is determined by the geometry of the bipolar electrode design, where the approximate depth of penetration is half the distance between the electrodes. RF has been used in medicine and surgery for a century and poses no long-term risk. The contact cooling at the applicator tip lowers the temperature of the epidermis, thereby forcing the RF down into the dermis and achieves the treatment purpose.
